Default CAR PROBLEM!!!! My car over heats! Have a 95 Integra GS-R.

I replaced the radiator, radiator cap, thermastat, water pump, timing....I don't know what else there could be. thought that it may be the head gasket but, I'm not blowing up smoke from the tale pipe. Car has about 156,000 miles on it. Had a tune-up, don't know what else. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

you dont nesseceraly have to be blowing smoke to have a headgasket prob there could be a very small leak in the gasket. how hot did the car get and for how long wats ur setup? i just did a headgasket on a 01 gsr with type-r pistons skunk2 cams and crower springs and valve train and the car still overheats. new fan thermostat and fan switch so expect the worse if a headgasket doesnt fix it. sorry

The car has ACT flywheel, exedy stage 1 clutch kit, iceman intake. Everything else is all stock. You could be right, there maybe a small leak in the gasket. Any other suggestions?

How far pass the middle does the heat temperature on your gauge go? B/C nobody matter how you drive it, your car will always run hot...especially if the car has over 100,000 miles and how often do you mash on your car?

When exactly does the car overheat, idling or while your moving? Checked to see if your fans are opperating?

Seems like the car overheats when it's out of fluid from the radiator. Cause when it does over heat, the fluid is always out or evaporated from the radiator.

do a compression and leak down test to find out if your headgasket is bad

All it takes is a small, undetectable leak out of a radiator hose or tb coolant hose and when your system looses enough coolant, it will start to overheat. Look for a leak.

I think you can do a test for the head gasket, can't remember tho, something about pressurizing the cylinders.

Usually, I can smell the sweet smell of coolant if it is being burnt thru combustion. Any steam out of the exhaust?

your right, i can smell a sweet smell too when it's burning too. does that mean that the head gasket is bad? Or just a bad hose?

Does your oil look milky at all? That's also a sign the headgastket is contaminating the oil with coolant.

Also, how quickly does does it take for all the coolant to drain out? Is this something you check once a month or can it happen in a day?

before replacing the head gasket check around and make sure it's not something else that is leaking. is there a puddle of coolant on the ground when you have your car parked for a period of time?

When the car is sitting it doesnt mean that the fluid will leak. It might only be leaking when the pressure is at max. So run the car and look for leaks especially under intake manifold.

You can always put dye in the coolant, http://www.autobarn.net/trcodyeforfl.html . Run it and see if you see any leaks, if not I would replace the headgasket.
