Default why am i overheating

heres the full scenario, i replaced a head gasket and forgot to clamp a couple of coolant hoses, these hoses blew off while driving on the highway and i overheated, fixed the problem and continued to overheat, then i replaced the thermostat it seemed stuck shut, then i began to over heat with tons of white smoke and it smelled of pancakes(coolant) the car will not hold coolant the lower radiator hose was cold while the upper was hotttttt. i hope its just a bad head gasket what do you thing h-t?

maybe you siezed your water pump, if not then try bleeding coolent system: remember to set heater to full and run at idle till fan runs. when fan is on, it is a sign that the thermostat opened.

oh and there was TONS i mean TONS of white smoke, and it looked like gasket material gathering inside the radiator and overflow bottle, the smoke actually filled the inside of the car so i figure it might be the gasket just burned up and allowed coolant to get into the combustion chamber????

Sounds like you have a blown headgasket or you have the worng one on there or you installed it wrong. Is your coolant bubbling and does it have white stuff in it?

yes it bubbles, no theres no white stuff in it, but there is a tiny bit of milky white substance on the oil dipstick. this means headgasket right?

Is there a constant stream of bubbles? and if your oil is milky, change it and possibly your HG!

yes..if you have milky oil...it's definatley water in your combustion chamber....looks like you will need to re-do the head job...and maybe check the block or head for cracks and leaks where they meet.....my.02

are you over heating during boosting or overheating all the time & with different amounts of load?

ok I personally think it's your headgasket........ OR very possible that you could have warped your head!

I pray that your head is fine. Re-torque your head bolts again and see if that solves it. if not change out your head gasket and at that time check to see if the head has warped at all.

HTH
