how to fix a tire thats leaking air?
my rear tire is kinda loosing air and every week i gotta pump it at the gas station. the thread is still pretty good (80%) and i dont want to spend $ on a new tire+mount them.
my buddy has the tire repair thing, its like a screwdriver thing and theres a black wire thing that you plug into the tire, then cut the remains of it out. does anyone know what the steps are to doing this? i will probally pump the tire then soak it to see where the leak is, and patch it. any help would be appreciated.

yea i know ihave to take the tire off, and i will soak it to see where the air is leaking, then plug it. im just not sure whats the procedures to plugging it with the black wire

No.
Go to autozone, get a tire plug kit. As long as the hole isn't on the sidewall, you can plug it without removing the tire from the rim.

if u put it in a tub of fluid (usually water) u can see exactly where it's leaking from (where the bubbles are), then u can see if it's on the sidewall or flat and if u can do it or not

so if its not the sidewall (the thread area) i should just pinch a hole with the screwdriver thing that comes with the kit, plug the black wire thing into it, twist it?, then pull the screwdriver thing out and cut the remains of the black wire?
correct me if i am wrong, i just dont want to pump some air next time i fill up

the simple tire patch kit is not a good fix. it is good for temporary use, but if he has a good tire he should bring it somewhere and have it patched. they have to remove the tire and patch the hole from the underneath. very simple, and lasts.
