Default Wheel size?

What is the difference between the 16x7+35 114.3 4h and 16x8+35 114.3 5h?

The first one is a 7in wide wheel and 4-stud, the second is 8in wide and 5-stud.

Before you decide on a wheel width, decide what kind and size of tires you're going to mount on it.

For example, if you have a 1992-1995 Honda Civic, the proper size tires for 16" wheels is 205/40-16. Most tires this size are approved for mounting on rims 7.0-8.0 inches wide. The ideal rim width would be 16x7.5. You could use 16x7, but the tires may appear slightly bulging; you could use 16x8, but the tires may appear slightly stretched.

205/50-16. And most 205/50-16 tires are approved for rims that are 5.5-7.5 inches wide, so don't get 16x8. (I would probably get 16x6.5 if it's offered, but 16x7 would be fine too.)

I can help.

Just answer a few questions...

- Only for street use? What about autocross or racetrack?

- Will they often be used in rain?

- Will they be used in snow and frigid cold? Or only in moderate to warm temperatures?

- How much do you care about performance vs value - i.e. do you want the absolute best performance regardless of price or treadlife, or would you be willing to give up a little bit of performance in order to get a lower purchase price and/or longer treadlife?

1. It's only for street use

2. Yes, they will be used in the rain

3. No, the car is only used the summer time.

4. I dont really care about performance for this car. I just want tires that look nice and performs well in the conditions i have mentioned.

Get the Kumho Ecsta SPT in your 205/50-16 size. Excellent dry traction, outstanding in the rain, last a long time (30-40K miles or more), and an incredible bargain at $61/tire (after rebate) plus shipping at the Tire Rack, or $67/tire (after rebate) including shipping at Discount Tire Direct. Those prices reflect Kumho's current $40 rebate offer on a set of four, which runs through December 31 (make sure you mail in the rebate request within 30 days of the date on the receipt, though).

They look like this:
