I love the way these tires/wheels fit. Can anyone tell me anything about these tires and the size of them.

Also I am debating between 15x6.5 and 15x7. What are the pros and cons? Can you even notice a difference in the width? Will this cause fitment issues if I am too low?

Tires are Yokohama ES100. Nothing special about them. Look them up on tirerack.com for more info and tires size.

I got nothing on the rims.

it really depends on the wheel offset and width

i would recommend a 15x7 wheel with a offset between +25 - +35
and get a 205-50-15 tire

It's a 96-00 civic hatch with 15" wheels.

See this is exactly what I don't want:


The tire looks fat, ugly, and it is protruding out of the rim.
How do I avoid this? The guy with this picture says the rim is 15x7 with a 205/50/15 tire.

This tire looks absolutely terrible compared to the original photo I posted. What are the differences? How do I get my tires/wheels to fit like the first photo and not like this one?

im pretty sure the rims in the first pic 16in, so hence the thinner tires. if you have 15in the tires will always look thicker

What year? The '96 Civic Hatch takes a different size tire (195/50-15) from the '97-00 (195/55-15 or 205/50-15).

As noted above, if you want a shorter sidewall with more wheel and less tire showing, get bigger diameter wheels. The best tire size for 16" wheels is 195/45-16 or 205/40-16 if it's a '96, or else 205/45-16 or 215/45-16 if it's a '97-00.

your speedometer will be off. The first pic looks like 17's. The ride with larger wheels will be rougher and the wheel can be damaged more easily. Larger wheels are usually heavier. Also tires are more expensive. The pic with the slips you posted looks almost exactly like my car lol.
The biggest I would go is 16" on a civic.

The speed sensors and suspension were designed for different size tires. '96 was the "split" year. The '96 DX and hatchback models were designed for 175/70-13, the same tire size as the '92-95 Civic, with about the same outer diameter as 195/50-15, 195/45-16, and 205/40-16. All other '96 Civic models were designed for 185/65-14, the same tire size as the '97-00 Civic, with about the same outer diameter as 195/55-15, 205/50-15, 205/45-16, and 215/45-16.

No. For one thing, those are "oddball" sizes that are difficult or impossible to find. For another thing, you need to get the tire size that maintains the accuracy of your speedometer and odometer, maintains your suspension geometry, and will fit your car's wheel wells properly. On a '98 Civic, that's 195/55-15 or 205/50-15. That's also a common size with a nice variety of tires in all performance categories and price ranges. Stick with 195/55-15 or 205/50-15.
