no i dident no that how so? but the wheel is a 15x8 with a 13.5 offset i believe and if streching it is bad what tier should i put?

"Stretching" - mounting tires on rims that are too wide for the tire size - is unsafe because excessive heat and stress can develop in the sidewalls, leading to a significant risk of tire failure (popping off the bead or a plain old blowout). DON'T DO IT.

This is why you need to FIRST find out what tire size is best for your car, and THEN find out what width wheels it can be mounted on safely. Don't just buy rims first and pray you don't have a catastophe as a result.

Maybe because it's dangerous. You can do whatever you want to make your car look however you want - looks are a matter of personal taste - but I can't understand why someone would do something that could give them a serious risk of having an accident caused by a tire blowing out. That's why most knowledgeable tire shops will refuse to mount the tires on rims that are too wide (but unfortunately there are also a lot of people working in tire shops that don't know a whole lot about tires).

195/50-15 is the best 15" tire size for a '95 Civic, but I would never, never, NEVER mount them on 15x8 rims. The best thing you can do for your car is to sell the rims and get some that are 15x6, 15x6.5, or 15x7.

15x8 +13.5 isnt going to fit your 95 civic without rubbing and major suspension modifaction. do yourself and your car a favor and just listen to nsxtasy and get proper fitting wheels/tires.

For a 15x8, 225/45-15 can be used.

You need to listen to the people, they have tons more experience then you.

So you have camber kits? Big deal. Your still going to have to roll the fenders, OR have a stupid amount of camber.
Which, one is going to eat your tires, 2, looks stupid, 3, dangerous, 4, come on' why not put wheels and tires that were actually meant to fit your car, without haveing to make modifactions to it.

Hellaflush, or what ever the hell you want to call it is stupid, ugly and dangerous, period.

because its a trend, and a dangerous one. rusted hoods are on the out, 90% of roof rack owners are too fat and lazy to actually RIDE a bike, the list of examples of stupid trends could stretch a mile. despite the trendiness of rust and racks, neither of them actually effects your vehicle's safety or performance. do whatever you want, just do me a favor and die somewhere other than the chicago area. i dont want to be stuck in 3 hours of traffic because you lost control of your form over function modified car. moron.

I believe that form follows function. If your going to run wide wheels... run wide tires. If you need to stretch/roll/pull the wheel arches do it. But there is a reason for wide tires and thats for more grip. Do you road race the car? Autocross? Drag race? I doubt all of the above. The reason you want wide wheels is to look like someone who does participate in an autosport.

hey guys i know im new here but i know a lil about stretching tires. ive had plenty of 15 x 8 wheels and i have run 185 50 and 195 50 on them with no problems. ive also had 15 x 9 ran 205 50. did a few canyon runs and driven from so cal to san jose. i think if the guy isnt an agressive drive he will be fine.

one thing vtecphean you should know. im not sure how much neg. camber you are going to need but it will ware your tires much faster.

195-45-15. It's his car let him mod it how he wants. The 50s you have will be fine. Neither will have much strech like you want on a 15x8. If you car is "SLAMMED" and you run camber to fit the wheels then don't expect it to ride good on the street.

No, you don't know ANYTHING because the advice you give is UNSAFE. Many, many tires blow out or pop the bead with the tire size and wheel size you mention. Maybe yours didn't and you were lucky, but plenty of them do fail. Please don't post such unsafe, ignorant advice on the forums.

He can do whatever he wants, but it's UNSAFE to mount that tire size on 15x8 wheels. And it's worth pointing out here that it's unsafe.

Starting to see a lot of this my area, it makes me real nervous.

+13 on 8" wide wheel? Seriously? There is no way you can fit that in the fenders without some crazy camber. If you want an 8" wheel look for something in the neighborhood of +25-35 and expect to roll/pull the fenders and to not be able to turn the wheel to full lock. Even if you ran no fenders and got the camber straight with a +13 the scrub radius is screwed and the car is going to be annoying as hell (and unpredictable) to drive.

Three things you should never half-*** on your car: Tires, brakes, and seatbelts. They're the only things between your butt and the pavement. If you don't have the knowledge of exactly what problems a modification can cause, then you shouldn't touch it.

I'm afraid a lot of these people would put hand-knitted seatbelts and airbags full of nails in their cars if someone said it looked sweet.
