Hey I was wondering if anybody knows if a 225/55 r16 tire, which is a 8" tire, will fit on a 7" wide wheel???

 

yes they will work.. my old supra came from the factory with 16x7" wheels w/225/50-16 tires.

 

Look up the specs for the tire, either on the manufacturer's website, or on the website of a retailer like the Tire Rack. You'll see a range of approved rim widths for each size tire.

Most tires that size are approved for widths of 6.0-8.0 inches, so 16x7 is perfect, but you should look up the specific tire to be sure.
