tire question
hi i currently am running 205/60/15's on my civic.. i am lowered 1.5inches.. i plan to change my tires soon and if i go to a 205/50/15 tire size how much lower will my car go.. because i scrape already on certain speedbumps.. i just want to know an exact loss of clearence i will get.. and if anything maybe post a before and after pic
The proper 15" size for your Civic is 195/60-15, which has exactly the same outer diameter (24.2 inches) as your stock 185/70-14 size.
205/60-15 is too big; the diameter is 1/2 inch larger than stock, and the tires are 20 mm wider than stock, which is why they are rubbing.
205/50-15 is MUCH too small for your car (4.7 percent, or 1.2 inches, smaller in diameter than stock).
You should be fine with 195/60-15.
