Default Offset vs. Handling

I'm looking at getting a set of Ronal R10 Turbo's but they are 15" x 7" with a 28 offset, they came off of a MKIII Jetta. Does anyone know if this offset will adversely affect the handling of my car. 1990 Honda civic hatchback lowered on Tein SS Coilovers, skunk2 camber kit front and rear. Thanks in advance. Right now I'm running 16" x 7.5" Kosei K1 with a 30 something offset but I'm thinking the less offset might benefit me because at full lock hard turns over bumps im getting fender rub in the rear and I dont want to roll the quarters if I don't have to.

The big concern with differences in offset is clearance, rather than handling.

Other concerns with using wheels from other brands are the lug pattern (obviously) and the size of the center bore (to avoid needing hubcentric rings).

I think the wheels you are looking at will be very close to your current ones as far as how close they are to the fender. a 7" wheel with 28 is close to 7.5" in the 30's. less offest widens the track, but puts more load on your bearings. So it should increase your handling provided you use good tires.
