Default offset?

Whats a good offset for a 1992 eg hatch? Im looking to lower the car about 2"

Also with that whats a good tire size that would fit my car nicely. Right now i have a 17 by 7.5 rim, 205 45 tires and about 42 offset. The might be a bit big i think?

Thanks

If you're not looking to do anything to increase wheel/tire clearance (roll fenders/quarter panels, install flares, etc...) then you are looking at about a 15x7 +35 with some 195/50/15 tires.

If you are willing to do some work to increase tire clearance, you could go with a 15x8 +35 with some 225/45/15's.

Thankyou, that helps out alot. I am unable to roll the rear 1/4s because of rust. The front are rollable haha. I guess my option would be to go to the smaller tire/rim. Thanks so much!

If you get a decent tire, you'll be amazed at what that sizing combination will give you in terms of grip and acceleration when compared to your current setup.

in 15" you'll want to be around 35 to 40 mm offset as stated, if you have to stock with 17" a 205/40R17 would be a little better (@ ET38+) but with the drop you still might rub over big bumps
