new tire impressions
Just wanted to give my first impressions of my new tires, I picked up a set of dunlop dz101 in 205/50-15. I must say I am very impressed at how quiet and smooth they are. They grip pretty good as far as I can tell but I havnt had a chance to really get on it because my wife filled the tank with 89 octane.

The Dunlop Direzza DZ101 is a very good tire if you're looking for a budget performance tire, i.e. a tire that offers good performance at a bargain price. Unfortunately, 205/50-15 is the only 15" size they offer. Other tires worth considering in the same segment include the Kumho Ecsta SPT and the Yokohama ES100, both of which come in a wider variety of sizes, including the 195/50-15 that would be more suitable for 15" wheels on a '91 Civic hatchback.
For an overview of how budget performance tires compare with tires in other segments (e.g. if you're looking for even better performance and you're willing to pay a bit more for it), click here.
