Default need help deciding between two offsets?

okay, I am purchasing wheels that are the same width as my OEM wheels (17x7). the stock offset is 45. the wheel I want is offered in a 42 and a 48.

What I want is for the wheel to move further out away from the strut and come closer to the outer fender so it has more of a wide, flush look than a sunken in look. which do I get, 42 or 48?

Get 42. More offset = more sunken in.
