lug nut threads
I recently bought and restored an old set of PRIME wheels and when i put them on the car with open ended acorn lugnuts they go on up to the second last thread. Will this be a problem or do I need to get some longer studs?
Just as long as the entire nut fits on the stud you are fine. I would not recommend going through the massive hassle of extending your studs.
Oh and by the way there is no such thing as an open ended acorn nut. An acorn nut is a nut that has a closed rounded end.

Cheers!

i tried again today and I can get 6 1/2 turns on the stud. Are you positive this will be ok because if it is I'll save my money not getting longer studs. this is just for daily driving not for the track. thanx.

"Acorn" is one of the most confusing terms in the lug nut world, because it's used so many ways. Sometimes it refers to short lug nuts, whose length is about the same as their outer diameter. Sometimes it refers to the shape of the seating area (and that's even worse, because some people use "acorn" to refer to a tapered seating area, and others to refer to a spherical seating area). So there are lots of different interpretations to the word...
