97 ex coupe with 17's with low profile tires look with the car on stock suspension [not lowered]
would it kind of look awkward?

Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am sure you can search the appearance cosmetic section for pictures.
However, yes, 17s on a 97 civic is dumb. Save your money, get 15s
