HELP: rim width size??

Default HELP: rim width size??

ok i got some rims which are 17's but i dont kno if the width of it is for sure 8 inches wide or 7.5 inches wide?? the tire size is 205/40ZR17...what does this mean my width would or could be for the rims??

Moat of the time 17" rims comes inc 17x7. 205/40/R17 would be fine. some people even put 205/45/R17 or 215/40/R17.

so is it possible for my rims to be 17x8 with 205/40ZR17 tires or 17x7.5?? also if my tires are 205/40ZR17, does that mean i could lower my car at least 1.5 inches?? cause i really wanna lower my civic that looks like a monster truck with it being soo high...

I guess you didn't try doing a search, or even looking over the first couple of pages of topics in this forum. Otherwise you would have found this other topic which answers your question.
