Default Chosing a tire size to match spedometer.

Okay, I need someone who knows from personal exp.

I got new rims for my teg, they are 15x6.5, the stock rims are 15x6...

I need to pick tires for the new rims that will be close to even so the spedometer doesn't need to be re-calibrated...

Stock: 195/55 @ 15x6
New: ???/50 @ 15x6.5

I'll be getting azenis, so should i get 215, or 205?

PLEASE HELP!!!

The 215/50 will match the sidewall height closer to the stock sidewall height.

195/55=107.25mm
215/50=107.5mm

It's not the width... You want to match (close) the overall diameter of the tread. TireRack.com has that listed for most of their tires. I wanna say something like 205/45-16 or 205/50-16 but I'm not sure which.

Doh! I thought you were asking about 16" rims...

The width of the wheel will affect the overall diameter, but not enough to really worry about
215/50/15 matches the diameter perfectly

205/50R15 is what you want. A 205 is a closer fit on a 6.5" wide rim that on a 6" wide rim, so that is as close as you are going to get.

stock diameter is 23.4" and a 205 is 23.1".

Check the diameters on this page:
http://www.kumhousa.com/Produc...D=712

or better yet, for the particular tire you intend on buying.

Cheers,
Roy
