Default good idea?? bad idea?? sand blasting wheels?

well i have some sportmaxs that use to be red and the previous owner decided to spray paint over them and make them gold. I have a sand blaster from harbor freight but was wondering if it would be safe to do it.. or should i just sand them down by hand?? i plan on powder coating them after.

Since they're aluminum wheels, it wouldn't be a wise idea. Sandblasting will compromise the structural integrity of the wheels. Chemical stripping is the safer alternative.

yup just use some aircraft paint remover and it'll take the paint off the wheels easily

theres also a place in Anaheim called Linco Industries and they'll chemically strip everything off down to bare metal. all the wheel shops and powdercoaters go there.
