forged rims cracking?
im not too sure about this, but i recall someone saying that forged rims never crack, thats why rota's and other knock-off brands always crack because theyre not forged.
well, my rays gramlights has a hairline crack and now it wont hold air. anybody care to fill me in about forged rims?
do they crack? are they not supposed to crack? im so lost..

All Wheels can crack, no matter how they are made. Forged wheels are definetly stronger than cast wheels as they are a better grade of aluminum that have a finer grain structure. I recently had a forged wheel crack on my Expedition for no reason, the wheel cracked thru the spoke without any big strain being put on it.
I suggest you contact the manufacture as most wheels have lifetime structural warranties on them. As long as the wheels have not been abused due to curbing or anything, you should be fine.

I looked it up at tirerack. Apparently some Gram Lights are cast and some are forged.
