Default custom bolt patterns?

Anyone know of a company that will make a wheel in a custom bolt pattern? I need 5x110 +40-45 or so. Anyone?

May I ask why you would want such a wheel?

There are some in Cali I am sure.

Probably mega bucks and a CNCed wheel will never be as strong as a forged wheel. You also need to come up with a design that will work. You need experiance+some knowledge for that.

Maybe some places have predesigned wheels that just require a specific offset adn bolt pattern input.

Either way this is a very expenisve undertaking.

yup, what car? you could always slightly modify the stud openings on 5x112mm (benz, audi) or 5x108mm (fords, volvo) wheels. make sure the center bore matches up though.

What kind of car?

If it's not a Honda or Acura - and, based on the bolt pattern, I'm guessing it's not - you would be better off asking advice on another forum, one for your kind of car, where people might be better able to help you.

Just because you don't know nsxtasy, doesn't mean you should get nasty about it. IT's not for a honda, but being that I think H-T has the smartest members (nsxtasy not included), I thought I'd ask anyway...this is for the new Cobalt....and since getting a custom drilled wheel doesn't really care what bolt pattern it's drilled to, it really doesn't matter what car its for anyway.

I've been talking to Rota about setting up a custom drilled wheel in this bolt pattern, but as old man neri said, it's VERY expensive.

I sell wheels all day long and it is a tough bolt pattern right now for wheels. It is a Saab pattern that they decided to use. From what the company i work for the only thing that is available is some ultra, american racing, and a few Konig wheels.

I wasn't being nasty. I was giving you a CONSTRUCTIVE, HELPFUL SUGGESTION on where to find the answer to your question. But obviously you've got a nasty attitude and can't see when people are trying to help you. Don't be such a dick.

I've helped WAY more members here than you ever will. LOTS of them. But that's because, unlike you, I try to give helpful advice about wheels and tires on Honda/Acura cars, which is the subject of this forum. YOU, on the other hand, just look to start flame wars. Again, don't be such a dick.

Also, this forum is for exchanging information about wheels and tires ON A HONDA/ACURA CAR. People here know a lot about a lot of things, and might be able to give advice about how to grill a steak, but THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR IT. It's a Honda/Acura forum, for exchanging information about our cars. Not about Chevrolets, and not about steaks.

Then I'm sure people on a Cobalt board will know better than people here. Ask there. And don't be such a dick there, either.

NSXtasy: My bad man, I guess I'm so used to people being snots when it comes to the whole "Try searching" and "Take it somewhere else" thing that I got defensive. didn't mean to jump on ya, it's always tough to understand what people mean in type I mis-interpreted it as you just shoving me out of the forum since It's not conveniently honda...I've never stopped myself from helping someone with something not honda/acura related just because this is H-T, and hope that you would be friendly enough not to either.

Spoolin: Thanks for the ideas, I'm just pulling my hair out on this one, since no one seems to know any way of getting some lighter/smaller wheels for this application.

I've checked with cobaltss.net, and no one either seems interested or has any idea on where to go for this. I guess when it comes down to it, I've always been an H-T'er and always hope that the answer can be found here....I just don't trust other boards anymore

I don't totally agree with this. This is still a good place to get good generic rim and tire advice. However I will agree that if it is for something specific about a specific car that it is best to go to a specific forum about that specific car for advice and always it's best not to be a dick.

Now about steaks. Yum

Cooking a steak on the BBQ and don't know if it's done yet? Take your right hand index finger and touch the steak, feel how tender/tough it is. Now compare it to your left hand.

Touch your left hand thumb to your your left hand index finger. Now take your right hand index finger and press it into that meaty spot that attaches your left thumb to your left hand. If it feels the same your steak is rare.

Touch your left hand thumb to your left middle finger. Right hand touch test, if it feels the same your steak is medium rare.

thumb to ring finger, steak is medium

Thumb to pinky, steak is well done.

This is a much better way to tell than cutting you steak open on the BBQ and having the juices burn away.

Cheers and good luck.

Have you tried Kodiak Racing wheels?

No problem. Good luck with the wheels, and with finding folks who can help you figure out what is best.

prelude 2 nv: No I haven't yet, though I will.

Being that I've owned mostly Hondas, I've never really had to figure out this kind of thing...we've pretty much babied with wheel choices. But this stupid pattern is just driving me nuts. I'm thinking that it might be a good option to change the bolt pattern on the car with a new hub from a different GM vehicle....who knows.

The Cobalt is new to the market. Is this bolt pattern new, or has it been used on other cars (GM or other brands)? If it's new, it might just take a little bit of time for the aftermarket to gear up for it by offering wheels with that pattern. A lot of Cobalts are being sold (I assume, since it's Chevy's subcompact), and I would bet that there would have to be some wheels available with that pattern, either now or in the near future - and if so, you wouldn't have to worry about custom drilling. Not to beat a dead horse, but I'm sure there are internet forums where a lot of Cobalt owners hang out and would be able to give you a more knowledgeable idea of what's available. Again, good luck.
