what is the widest tyre that i can put on these wheels. they are stock dx 13s they are 13x5s. i want to put a 195 60R13s on them but i think the widest i can go is 185 60s is this correct? looking at the sumitomos (sp) HTR200s.

 

The 195/60-13 is only approved for use on rim widths that are 5.5-7.0 inches wide.

 

so im a .5 inch short.......****. are the sumitomos probably the best street tyre in a 13?? and ill have to get a 185 right?? thanx

Yes, but that's not saying much. They're not very good, but there's nothing better in 13" sizes.

You could get 185/60-13 or 175/70-13.

 

thanx. im moving and i dont want my car to get messed with so im putting on my 13s and want to still be able to drive kinda crazy.

 

I've been using Yokohama Avid T4 185/70/13 on my 13x5 VX wheels for 3 years now, w/o any problems whatso ever.

Those are all seasons. The original poster mentioned something about Sumi HTR 200s (summer tires) thus I am assuming he is looking for summer tires.

 

If your car came from the factory with 175/70-13, you should really get the same size tire, since the other sizes mentioned here are different enough in diameter (+2.4 percent for 185/70-13, -4.0 percent for 185/60-13) that they will throw off your speedometer and odometer significantly. Performance differences are negligible.
