welding question

Default welding question

ok guys ive never welded anything in my life but at school here we have a welding class. what does it take to make a wheel spacer? i was gonna see if somebody would make one for me cause i got HX wheels but they wont fit over my EX brakes.

Wheel spacers should be made on a lathe, not welded.

i agree with them...a welder shouldnt even touch a wheel spacer. I would jbuy a set its the easist and cheapest. The other option is to ahve a guy mill you some custom ones. It will cost you a bunch of money. THey need to be pretty balanced or just like a wheel, it adds weight on one side and will wobble

ok heres whats gonna happen i found some that are 1/4th" but ive heard 1/8th" is better so a machine shop is going to machine them down to 1/8th

you can get spacers on ebay for dirt cheap. like 20 bucks shipped.
