Default Welding Classes

Hey, I was interested in getting like a summer class for welding. I tried to find any programs in my area but couldn't find anything except trade schools. I didn't want a degree, I just want to learn.

Anyone know of any classes like this near Palm Beach, FL?

I'm already going to college for engineering. So having classes in welding would take up to much time for my first degree. I wanted more of like a certification school

Vocational schools is where it's at if you want to get certified or just learn. I don't know about here in florida, but in Jersey they had night classes at certain colleges too. I did the vocational thing many years ago while I went to high school.

When i was looking for classes around here i found a guy on craigslist teaching tig classes

or you can go to your local welding supply place and ask them. sometimes people put up flyers on the window for classes.at least they do at the supply place near me.

just a couple ideas.

The guys I bought my tig from offer an "intro to GTAW welding" type of class every few months (free with purchase of welder ). I'd echo the suggestion above, see if there are any local welding supply shops or welding manufacturer sales offices around you that offer introductory classes. Or, make friends with some local fabricators and see if they'd be willing to spend a few hours on a weekend with you.
