Which welder
so now i'm starting to think since i'll be changing my setup for my car alot and will need to fabricate some parts and always wanted to tig weld if I should buy a TIG welder. Now I figure should i buy say a good cheap welder like the Eastwood 200 (some reviews say its good others say it comes DOA) or just get a miller diversion 180 (almost 1k price diffrence) i'm leaning towards the eastwood 200 because if I don't end up using it alot it won't be that big of a deal since its only 900 bucks instead of 1800 bucks for the Miller. Now I have MIG welded before but not in a few years so i'd have to learn alot about welding aka lots of scrap metal. Basicly I need to make exhaust and intakes/catch can's so i'd be welding alot of aluminium which takes alot of practice.
I have the Miller Dynasty 200 DX. It's the best Tig welding machine I have ever used. I would recommend it to anybody. Best of all almost anything you would want to do on you car it can handle, If your gonna get one I would highly recommend the DX version, the pulse feature is awesome.

Another HTP 221 user here and am very happy with it.
For the OG poster though, to fit in your budget go with a Diversion 180 or a smaller Maxstar or Thermal Arc if you're planning on only doing steel. I bought a Miller 180 new, used it for maybe 6 months and sold it for $1400 so not much of a loss in investment.
