are you talking about an air to water intercooler?

i run a 12v harbor freight pump, works awesome. and a PWR 6x10 barrel intercooler. they are pretty straight foreward, just finding places for the pump, tank, IC, and the lines.

I'm running a PWR 6x10 Barrel Intercooler as well, using a Jabsco water pump. Also if this is going to be driven on the street a heat exchanger might be considered. I can post a pic or too if you need

ya, i have my water cell in the cabin, as well as the pump. might want to consider a drain valve as well to aide in draining to add new ice between runs.

you need a smaller intercooler core and build an enclosure around the core which will let you run water through it to cool the flowing air into the engine. these intercoolers can be much smaller and still be able to run and flow high hp.

pwr makes pre-fabbed air to water coolers.

hope your setup goes well.

if you need to ask any questions feel free to pm me and i will be able to point you in the right direction..

check out precisionturbo.net they list hp ratings as well as core sizes... that should give a good idea.

Advantages/ Disadvantages

Air/Water
Pros:
- Better efficiency = cooler air charge
- cooler air charge = more power
- shorter IC piping = faster spoolup
- flexible location
- Water can be replaced with fuild with better heat coeffiecient

Cons:
- Higher cost compared to Air/Air
- Higher maintenance cost
- Complexity
- Weight

Air/Air

Pros:
- Low cost
- Low weight
- Zero to Low maintenance

Cons:
- Must be mouted to take maximum advantage of air flow through it
- Much lower efficiency
- longer possible IC piping

air to air cannot cool below ambient, whereas the water-air can

^^ exactly, my air to water beads condensation on the outside of it when i turn the pump. when have you ever felt an air to air at 37ish degrees while running??

Its a tial 38mm gate on the intercooler or maybe a 44.

the pump is kind of noisy, but nothing that using some form of insulator between the pump and the mounting surface doesn't solve. I used a 1/4 thick rubber mat.

you are correct about the wastegate on the intercooler, its a 38mm tial, and it serves a certain purpose, but I don't know if the owner/crew cheif of the car want me to tell but you can contact Jeromie Hicks with Eggum Racing on here, he goes by FMUNK. He might tell you the use of the wastegate.

on mine there's the BOV on the bottom of the piping, and then that big black thing is an air scoop to get air through the radiator.
