Torch size question
I have a hard time getting into tight spots ... like in between the tubes on exhaust manifolds and the runners on intake manifolds. I usally just push the tungston out further but I feel that might not be the best thing to do I am using the torch that came with my 185 .... do u guys use smaller torches? or am I missing somthing?
I have only been using a tig for maybe 8 monthes now and only 2 on my new machine, me and a friend have kinda been figuring it out as we go with help from you guys
thanks, john

What length back cap are you using? I am also learning as I go. Just got my thermal arc 185tsw. I am mainly going to be using a 9 series torch with a short back cap for tight places. Also you may want to look into a pencil torch and a flex head torch for your tight areas. Check out weld tec for torches. They sent me literature on their torches and reply quickly to any questions. http://www.weldtec.com/
You can either use some "extended cups" or a pencil torch. They're probably the cheapest alternatives before having to upgrade to a watercooled torch.

I like that company. They're good people.
