Default somewhat simple minded question (i think)

ok, so the basic theory for high performance exhausts is w/ the size of piping slightly increasing moving further from the header to increase the velocity of exhaust gases exiting the motor.

so here my question, if you applied that same theory to the intake piping, would this give you more gains as well? start with a slighly smaller size at the filter, than increase it to match the size of the throttle body?

what do you guys think?

It's not to increase velocity, but to increase the volume flux. From basic fluids, a decreasing diameter with constant volume flux will increase the velocity. AKA a "nozzle".

ever seen a iceman loose HP compared to a AEM? I'lm talking full long tube setup also. Chrslyer/Mopar did the research in the 1950's and it still holds true.
