Default Tight U-bend

nearing the finish of my turbo setup and i have a problem connecting the IC to the IC pipe on the turbo side... what i need is a 2.5 or 2.25..forget which one..none the less, peice of pipe in a u-bend form but its such a tight radius that it cant be done. local exhaust shops tell me it can be bent no more than 30 degrees n e how. what i was thinking is taking 2 90 degree elbows, sawing them off at the end of the bend so that they both remain 90 degrees and then welding the 2 together so that theres about an inch and a half between the 2. would this work? i mean it seems like my only option at this point.

use a lobster back bend. make small angle cuts on at the location of the radius but not fully through the pipe then bend the pipe towards the bend and weld all the seems together. search google and you will find pics

Try looking over what radius bends we have availables we offer some pretty tight stuff

you can figure the center to center distance (distance from center of one leg to the cente rof the other) by doubling* the centerline radius given here in the part #

UB-200-30-18-304 this would be a 6" center to center distance

even tighter than that..if i were to guess without being at my car id say center to center of 2.5 inch pipe.. 4 inches tops.. its mighty tight but only way to be done

Take a look at this thread...

I think this is what your looking for and gives you really tight angles. It's called a "donut pipe".

even if he did he still has good bends for a good price.

I can bend 2.5 on 2.5 stainless 304. Not cheap though. I do 1.625, 2 and 2.5 on 1D.

you can also run a tight radius 90 deg silicon coupler if you cant find a tight enough bend.

tight radii 90 deg silicon couplers

if you go this route, invest in some heavy duty constant torque t bolt clamps too. usually, the more couplers you have, the greater chance you have of "loosing" charge pipes
