Sumping gas tanks? I searched.SHOW ME
Sup everyone. FOr the past couple days i have been thinking about sumping my gas tank. I have an EG all motor car. I know i dont need it and that a walbro 255 is good enough but i really like how it looks. How would i do this? Would I be better off buying a fuel cell??? Hope you guys can help. Picture of how you guys have done it and have it mounted would be awsome aswell. Thank you -- Alex S.

Its very stupid to do this becuas eyou think it looks good. Its very difficult and hard to control and let alone a very tedious job to setup
Have you ever heard a sumped car? The fuel pump drones out the exhaust
Anywho, check out Hybridkoop's 50 something page build up, he coverred his tank sumping very well

my pump doesnt drone out my exhaust. and my exhaust is not that loud either. as long as you have the pump mounted correctly with some sound deadener in between, it will be tons quieter.
but first off, wash you tank out well. try 5 times or so. haha cut out the portion for your sump. clean off the stock tank coating around the cut and have it welded in. once welded in coat the inside with some type of gas tank coating like http://www.por15.com offers. http://www.por15.com/PRODUCTS/....aspx
last but not least, coat it with some 3m underbody coating. you can buy these by the aerosol can from any auto parts store. sprayed mine once in 3 years. no worries about the coating rusting underneath or anything.

If you guys are interested in a old school trick that I was taught by an old school drag car builder on how to get fuel tank empty and ready to cut for a sump here it goes.He told me fuel is very hard to get out of a gas tank theirs always fumes in their and could be very dangerous when cutting what he does and he has been doing it for years he removes the gas tank from the car puts a hose in the muffler pipe of another running car and into the filler neck of the gas tank you want to sump and the carbon monoxide coming out of the vehicle will dry and remove any fuel or vapors inside the gas tank you should do this for about 30 minutes or more.Stay safe sumping that tank
