Default Stainless head flange question.

I am looking into having a turbo manifold built for my b series. The question I have is this.... Can I use stainless flanges? I have been told that these will warp and strip the bolts from the head. I see many places use stainless flanges for headers. Is this diff? I am loooking to polish the manifold and would like to have stainless flanges because it would not look right if they where mild.

Yeah you can, but stainless does expand more which can cause cracking.

I had a 100% stainless manifold made last year. The flanges were 316ss and the runners were 304ss. It cracked many times and the surface contact between the head and the flange was never perfect.

It is not worth it. If you want it because you are afraid of the rust then have it coated.
