generally mild steel is used because it expands at a slower rate and to a lesser degree, i believe. stainless flanges have been known to strip threads by expanding and pulling bolts out or shearing heads off of bolts

yes, the only downside is that if you polish the manifold the flange looks kinda ugly in comparison.

the flange on the turob manifold that bolt up the head is that ok if it is mild steelt or do you need stainless stell.
