has anyone experienced their side mount breaking off? i just bought this 92 integra with a b18c1 swap and the driver side axel kept ripping so i checked it out and noticed that the motor was sitting at a angle i took off the cover and found metal shavings. i noticed that somebody heel a coiled the block and now their a half inch chunk of the block missing on top the left bolt. both bolts were completely stripped so i tried putting a new bolt on the right side and it wouldnt tighten. is it possible to get it welded and retapped?

 

I have seen that happen. You should be able to weld it and then drill and tap it. I fixed a cracked AL trans case years ago by having it welded back together and braced. The case held up fine too...the gears are another story lol.

 

would i be able to get it welded with the pistons and rods still in block?

 

not sure, you might want to find a welder that has repaired a block before and get their take. I know that it takes a decent amount of heat to run a bead on a chunk of cast AL.
