Default SHIFTER FABRICATION QUESTION

well i was just wondering if there is any tool i can use to decrease the diameter size of the shift rod from a M12 back to a M10.....

the reason i am asking this is because i cut like 1.5" and the diameter size of the shift rod was from a M10 to M12...

any tools to make my life easier or do i just grind it wid a bench grinder?

any opinion is welcome...

If you only have to re-thread it then take a M12 tap and put new threads on it. Then take a M11 tap and do the same. So then you can do the M10 easy. I did this on a shifter I broke and had to put new threads on it.
