Default Repaired Block

My F20B motor had been in an accident. (In Japan) well I ended up buying the motor unknowing of damage to the block. Anyways it had some broken bolts, and a major crack at the driver side motor mount. So here is the aftermath....

How many amps did it take to pull that off?

I know on a 1' x 1' section of 3/8" thick aluminum I was pushing 350 amps with a preheat. I'm sure if you let the arc sit there for a while you can do it on a lower amperage with a preheat on something as large as a block. Never tried though, for the simple fact that it should still be machined flat, not ground down with a hand grinder. Hope you don't get any leaks.

180 amps Pure Argon, no helium mix. AC of course...

If it were on the other side of the block we would not have done it. Because of the location were confident it is going to seal fine.
