hey justin, what do those rails underneath the flat panels do for flow? does it help rid lift any better than a full flat bottom?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by gldndrgn14 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">hey justin, what do those rails underneath the flat panels do for flow? does it help rid lift any better than a full flat bottom? </TD></TR></TABLE>

it "channels" the air, and keeps it going stright back.

It's to keep it laminar it slows down the fast moving air under the car.

The whole underneath the car undertray is a ground effects channel. As they said before they are used to keep the air moving back twards the rear, and direct the air certin spots.

figured that much that it channels the air. but is there a big improvement compared to a straight flat 1? because from the looks of it, it continues into the rear diffuser on that old z. nothing much more than that. maybe, channeling does help a lot more, but its so simple i dont see it. ahah

Air moves the rear of the car with or without one, the strake size makes a difference, in some racing theres a limit on how big they can make the strakes.

I dont like the holes in the back bumpers and I'm not putting the kind of work for a functional diffusor like on that 280 (though it looks awesome )

I've been wanting to take one from a trashed rear svt contour bumper and graft that into my rear bumper....I just keep looking and waiting on a broken svt contour rear bumper to use...

rivet it to what?? the gas tank?? not likely. You'd have to do all the bracework first and then rivet.

I'd rather do bumper work with epoxy and bondo

look like 305's or 315's

I've got a set of 305's on my 86 svo on 10.5" rims and they're just huge...
