Default problem with welding

got a lincoln mig pak 10, i don't know if it's a good welder or not, but before i get this thick chunk weld out of it at D current, mid feed. (best setting) i added gas (25/75 arg/co2 for mild steel, correct wire - same setting had better welds) and the welds are a bit flatter and cleaner, but not as flat and clean as the muffler guy who welded my muffler. any tips?

haha that's funny...i'm sure it might feel a little better to have some moisture in your eyes but it isn't going to cure anything. i guess it depends on your defintion of flashburn too...flashburn will normally feel like you have glass or sand in your eyes for a day or two and there isn't typically anyway to get rid of it right away. a doctor can give you medicated eye drops to sort of numb the eye or calm down the nerves in the eye, but there isn't a cure for it...coming from an emt i would just tell you to suck it up, because any doctor would tell you that is the majority of it too. now depending on how bad it is, then yes visine could help slightly, if you are just at the beginning stages of "flashburn" , from looking at a welding arc or being near one without a shade 10 + hood on, and your eyes just feel sore, and are have a slight burning sensation then yes, i would recommend keeping them moist or resting with your eyes closed for a little while and let it go away. but anyone on here would also tell you to not be a dumbass and just wear your welding hood and that wouldn't happen in the first place. hope that helps.
