Default my top mount manifold

ok, here is the problem... i'm not sure the best location for my wastegate on this manifold i just tacked together. i'm thinking either behind the rad and run a pipe out the engine side of the collector (would be a bitch to weld), or i can put it down beside the collector and run the downpipe behind the rad. i don't really have any other options as the charge pipe for the cold side will be on the driver's side of the mani.

cast a vote and let me know your thoughts.

here is the space:

here is the manifold:

here it is installed:

with the turbo:

here is option #1 with a pipe that would run down in behind the turbo inbetween the collector and runners:

here is option #2 with a pipe coming straight out of the collector and down(the dp would have to run behind the rad):

I will try to word's an idea that is abstract for me, though, I think it's not a bad one.

run a pipe from the driver side of the collector upstream with the flow of the manifold.
then, between the rad and turbo ( if there is enough room ) install the wastgate.
run the dumptube flowing the exhaust and merge a few feet away with the downpipe.

it would be performing great that way for shure..

hope this help

Kranked.

ok, i figured it out... i'm going to run the dp down behind the rad and put the wg between the rad and collector.

Do you think you are going to have problems with the material holding up to that heat? Id imagine it would be prone to failure even with proper bracing and such. Stainless is way stronger at higher temps. I think ceramic coating would compound the failure rate by not allowing the heat to shed at all.

Due to expansion rates stainless is WAY moreprone to cracking over temperature changes.

I see no problem with the material, and that's why I choise it for my manifold even before I say this. As long as the manifold carries little to no weight, is properly welded and the car is tuned well so no extreme EGTs are seen (Aaron, we will make sure of that, you gonna put a tap in there for my EGT Gauge for when we tune it?) it will be fine.

on the manifold? perhaps i could put one on the collector, or on the wg pipe? i already have a egt with my zietronix kit. we can datalog right off the ecu with the usb that chris (xenocron) installed for me.
