Default pipe thickness

I know for some people they dont like to share their material, gauge tubing etc.

But for those of you who dont mind maybe you can tell me this..

What do most of you use for tubing? Schedule 10, or 40?

I have used 40 in the past, never had an issue with cracking except on a wg tube and that was only after the manifold was used, pipe was heat cycled/contaminated and we tried to change the placement....

Basically im looking for a rock solid reason to steer me away from making the change to sched 10.

that is pipe, not tubing. and i assume youre making turbo manifolds?

for a log or small manifold scd 10 would be fine, but 40 may or may not be needed on a fullrace style depending on how heavy your turbo is and how you support it.

I meant piping like in the thread title 2am was rough. I have made a few full race style manifolds out of 40 and they have been fine, the only time i have had problems like i said were when we moved something after it had been used for a while.

Biggest stuff id use sched 10 on is probably a gt35r. Nothing bigger, there really is no room as a top mount on a VW. The schedule 10 is alot easier to work with from a cutting and welding aspect.
