Default Need help

Searched but couldnt find what I looking for.

Some time back, someone asked about the collector welding process. What I cant figure out is how to weld up the collector, after you get done with the primaries. Could someone show me the procedure graphically or something. Its like a wall I'm hitting and cant figure out what my order is.

Thanks

Burn's Stainless 5-1 Merge Collectors

Make the collector before running any of the primaries. If your fitup is good enough you only need to weld the outside joints of the collector.

can you take a picture looking down inbetween the primaries? I'm just wondering if they weld down inbetween them. Also, maybe a closeup from the side. please.

I think Burns machines these pieces prior to welding. Talk about a gravy welding job....these pieces probably fit perfect prior to welding.

Engloid you could always just call and ask me

The pieces are not machined so to speak just hand finished very well before initial tacking.

I'd bet they fit well prior to welding, correct? Can you post some really nice "showpiece" internal welds? I wanna see some impressice full pen purged stuff. Based on the outside of the welds, I'm thinking that your guys are capable of some nice full pen welding, but I havn't seen pics of it.

That would be great to see. RMF said he was gonna post pics of an aluminum can cut in half and rewelded sometime soon.

I'm a bit anxious to see these two things.

Sure. I wouldn't mind seeing one just tacked up also. I got an idea they're really nice fits.

And how about some pics of purged roots and stuff? We never can see too many of them

On your collectors, do they go inside to weld them, or purge and weld full penetration? pics of that would be cool too.
