Making some Blow off valves.

Making some Blow off valves.
Did these yesterday.
This is what it starts out as:
First operation was to saw them into 4 pieces and do one side(this is not ideal, but for only 4 unit's im not going to invest in creative ways to tweak the manufacturing process. sorry the pics are a little blurry.
I made a attachment, screwed them onto it for the second operation. And here is the finished product:
I will update as I go along, the milling machine with the indexer was setup for slotting, so I couldn't drill the holes.
Here is what it will look like when done:

Re: (phoshEEzy)
It's phospor bronze, and will run a aluminium piston, usually the bodies are aluminium with a phosphor bronze piston.
I will problably have them powdercoated though.

Re: (cstay)
You want one? I will need to have a look at going rates. What do you think is a fair price?
It will be a while, I will make the piston and cap next weekend, then test it to see what spring works best, so about 2 or 3 weeks it should be done.

That could be done I suppose.
These aren't really for sale, I made 1 or 2 extra, cause it's a bit shitty to do only 2, it takes me quite a while to setup the machine, and only about 15-20minutes machining time. So whenever someone asks me to do something, I make a few extra, I was going to keep one for myself, then get rid of the last one.
If there is demand, I can always make more.
I don't know what the rules are on HT regarding selling/advertising let me check on that, don't want to upset anyone.
Btw, would you say $100 shipped is a fair price to charge for these?

Well, not really a secret that was a joke, I will use teflon.
Thanks.
Updates coming soon, I can only work on them when the machines are open on a weekend.
Did you take pics of the one you made?

Re: (wantboost)
oh okay, I will indeed post pics when they are done.
I am quite surprised by the amount of people that want BOV's, I suppose there is a market gap for a "cheap" quality high flowing unit around the $100 mark.
Looks like after testing, I will make at least 10 to start with.
Thanks for all the interrests so far.

Yeah usually it's for interrest sake and seeing/understanding how something works, but every now and then there is some practical application and a possibility to make something.

You should post the CAD pics of that crazy suspension setup you showed us on RM.
I have no idea if it would work well, but I'll be damned if it didn't look badass.
