Default Integra trans question

Hi, I bought an 98 integra gsr yesterday and the dealership where I got it inspected (not the same people I bought it from) said there was a crack in the trans housing and I should be able to get someone to aluminum weld it.

They made it sound like it wasn't a big deal, but then I asked on the integra forums here and I got a few responses that make it sound like my transmission is going to fall apart in a few days. One guy told me to ask over here so that's what I'm doing. I was just wondering if any of you guys have ever heard of tig welding a transmission and if it's ok to do. I called another mechanic and he said I could also try cold welding, so I don't know which one would be better to do.

I don't really know that much about transmissions so I don't remember much details, but the mechanic said the crack was near some sort of bolt that you unscrew to put in some kind of fluid. Sorry thats really vague I know, but thats all I can remember, can anyone help me out?

well, dont drive the car, thats most important.

welding the case while its on the car might cause warping, but i cant say.

its defenitly do-able if u can get past the warping and such.
