intake manifold 1.8t
Hi, just posting a work i got for build a intake manifold plenun with 80mm TB.
designed it by cad and flow simulated by cad too.
after many attempts the best result was this, limited by sizes mainly.

4mm al laser cutted
just have to install 1 sensor and a coupe vaccum fittings.

looks good walter, the consistancy in the beads will come with seat time.
as long as the weld bead is nice and thick on the outside around the runner to plenum floor joint u can radius them in pretty good even with 1/8" thickness floors.... theyve made good power over stockers also in dyno tests.

So that's how you do it.. I've lingered and learned, and this is no exception.
Good stuff OP. I need to hurry up and fire up my welder. It would be a shame to turn it on for the first time AFTER the warranty has expired. ( bought in Feb., still in box )

that's how i was thinking doing for stacks but more time on this work and customer didnt pay more, i welded in and outside.
btw, i tried to fine some info for to get that satin finish on aluminium, how do you get that? what tools do you use?

typically use various grits of sand paper on a DA or palm sander. i normally start around 80 grit and work my way up till i get the desired look. possibly start lower if i have to clean up some welds or imprefections first

Also note that it's better to sand all of your individual pieces before welding them in, otherwise your consistency across the whole piece will be off. Oh and forgot to mention that the manifold looked great. Totally feel you on the customer cash standpoint lol.
