Default How to setup the wire feeder?

I've got a Lincoln Weldpak, and the feed isn't smooth when welding. It seems to be studder. And if I turn up the feed rate, it seems to get worst.

Per the instructions, I supposed to set the resistance of the wire feeder by feeding the wire against something non-condcuctive (cement floor, etc). And turn the resistance up until I get a slight push back.

I dont' get that. I get a firm push back, and regardless of how loose I turn the resistance. What else should I be doing?

Any help? Thanks in advance.

Check the tension on your rollers inside the unit it sounds like they are slipping
