Help me pick a welding hood. Speedglas or Elite ?
So as the topic states my hood finally needs replacement and I need another ASAP. Iam going to order it this weekend and need to decide which brand to go with. I have narrowed it down to Either the speedglas or the miller elite.
I have about $275.00 to spend. So far Iam leaning twards the speedglas but I may go the other way if someone can convince me otherwise.
I keep seeing the new speedglas that is made by 3M ? has anyone used this model yet ?
Sorry if this is a repost.

I just called Gaspro here and they have the elite for $238.00 which seems to be a great price and I wont have to order it. hmmm

Elite is more comfortable, auto on is easier, grind setting is better, Infinite shade adjustment might be better if you do really low amp stuff, less flashing than the Speedglas. Speedglas is a little smaller, good for jamming your head in places and it feels a little lighter, not sure if it is. The tension on the Speedglas flipdown thing needs to be adjusted all the time and detent when it's down isn't as positive as the Elite.
I use both of them every week and would buy an Elite for myself.
