head bolt fix?

head bolt fix?
I have a extremely stripped out head bolt, someone mentioned to me that it maybe able to weld it closed, than rethread it. is this possible? i have never heard of anyone doing this.

They use Helicoil installments in motorsports circles, dont have first hand experience with them, but they do seem to be pretty good and popular as a fix for smashed threads.

already fixed 2 with timeserts but the place who fixed my ring screwed up the one thread so bad the timesert wont fit, the bolt is stripped to big
