i have a crx and want to install a harness bar. My ? is what kind of metal do i use to weld to the car and where do i held it to inside the car? im not sure how high its suppose to go when welding it. thanks.
they are bolted in or part of your roll cage.the height is specified from your 4 or 5 point seat belt directions.or you can find it at simpson.com or impact.com one of the seat belt mfgs sites.the tube should be at least 1 1/2 .095 wall dom.
Are you wanting a roll hoop or just a harness bar? You could copy the sparco harness bar:

the bar should be approximately 5 degrees below your shoulders.

the only thing that he didn't tell you was the material, you should use chromoly.
nhra calls for a minumum 1.250x.065 4130 tube for the harness bar when in a rollbar/cage. it must sit no lower than 3" from your shoulder... it cannot be located abover your shoulder
