ive wanted to do the same with a crx seat or racing seat ,but dont have either at the moment lol
owning a welder even if it cost you a grand for one is worth it. i think anyways ,you'll notice alot of people wanting you to weld up some stuff for them and things that can break around the house and what not ,it just pays for it self in no time doing it your self
when you buy the soild wire and argon ,get the 10lb roll ,its cheaper and get the biggest tank of argon ,last way longer and shouldent have to worry about running out

Keep it simple, and it should go great. THe problem with manifolds is that when you tack it up, then add too much heat in certain spots, it warps, stresses all the welds, then the welds crack at the greatest stress points. Use a THICK flange if possible, don't focus on one spot for too long, and it should go fine.
And $100 for a good working 90amp MIG is a good deal in my book
