Re: Full-Race R14... getting updates
Awesome Work!
I am just curious about a few things,
What sort of down force are you expecting from venting the exhaust out of the hood?
In the future will you be running a fire system in your cars?
Also are you expecting to have to change any of your existing setups with the same exhausts?
Awesome build, Great Documentation, and one BATSH*T crazy driver!
Cant wait to see the car back out!

Re: Full-Race R14... getting updates
1) ~40-50lbs downforce at full load, less load = less df obviously. should combine well with ~150-250lb df from the front splitter
2) in the future we will not race street cars. This car will never have a fire system, because its getting converted for full street use now. Having a fire system in the car (located in engine bay or cabin) would have made no difference, as this fire was _under_ the car. FWIW we will only race racecars in the future, and yes they will all have an onboard fire system. and be a lot less weight than a street car like this.
3) im not sure what you are asking? If you are saying will we change other cars to upside downpipes, YES.
4) mike speck is a bamfing driver

I'm putting together a r32gtr for a friend to do track days and possibly TA, we will be going with your manifold.
in the post with the dyno comparison you said you could have gotten better results from the 300sx 88-75. how so?
we are aiming for the 550hp range. there is alot of new stuff from borg warner and precision, its hard to keep track of it all.

let me know if you have any specific questions or areas of the car that youre working on, I would be happy to offer input regarding the build of the car when you are ready
right now the car is apart, i am rewiring my gauges, installing a stereo, electric p/s pump and a few other tricks. will be back together in approx 2 weeks and will post pics then

As an aside, I've always thought it would be interesting to a swap like this in an old 240z, or maybe even a 510. Obviously, a kit for such a thing probably wouldn't be viable, but it could be a fun project/publicity stunt for the shop.

It's been done in an s30 chassis a couple times. You can find links over on the HybridZ forum. One is a .jp site but the pictures are cool
