difference between tap voltage and continuous voltage control?

Default difference between tap voltage and continuous voltage control?

what exactly does this mean?

Think of it like this, tap welders = no adjustment only preset voltage steps normally switched by a step switch or by pluging your electrode lead into the next higher voltage outlet. CVC welders are like dimmer switches they give you what ever voltage you want, normally controlled by some sore of adjustment wheel or dial.

ahh gotcha. my last welder was continuos and it was a crappy century 130 mig.
