Yea defenitely. If it is true carbon fiber, there is no way of repairing it. Although the shipping company must have beat the hell out of it to crack it in the firct place. File a claim with the shipper and/or shipping company.

It looks like it was bent and it somehow affected the gel coat

PM carbonall the link, maybe he may have some good input.

Not sure if its really fixable or now, are the weaves damaged or it is just in the clear?

yooo...

It looks like it just is the gel coat that is cracked. It is not all the way through right? If so you can sand it down and reclear. Done be afraid if you sand into the carbon a little. Once you clear it you could not tell. A body shop could do everything for you pretty easily

Yah it looks like the gel is cracked right down to the fiber. If you got this for cheap it may be better to just find another used one, carbonall is right you could fix it. You could chip it out and fill in the area with new polyester resin. A couple of issues may come up if you want to fix it. First you might see a different clear tint to the resin in the repaired area than the rest of the part. The age of the resin and the underhood temps on the original part will have changed its color slightly. If you have a color difference is there it may not be a big deal but something to watch for. Second when you fill that area wait 3 days at least to sand it flush. If you sand right away the resin will shink over the first few days and then your perfect sanding job will screwed up. Last, I would scuff the whole part and then polish it back up or have it clear coated. Check the temp limits on the clear coat to make sure thatb won't be an issue mounted on the valve cover. Again though is it worth the trouble maybe maybe not.

One more thing you are going to have to get rid of most of that cracked area since it cracket down to the fiber, you cannot just sand a bit and then paint or the crack will still show. If you chip that resin out use tape dams to fill the damaged area back in. I use them all the time when I'm overlaying parts with a contour, saves time. Don't use a hammer to chip it out LOL, a razor blade might do just fine.

I go with option C, get the F* out of Israel...

Seriously though, we in the USA are downright pampered with our shipping options availible.
