anyone do this, i need to make a one off part, websites, directions?

what type of plastic is used normally with this process. i need it to be almost like a lego material..

im assuming it goes something like, you melt it in a container that is in boiling water then pour into your mold...?

This site has some casting resins. I've ordered the mold making rubber before they ship pretty quick

 

rapid prototype, like that laser thing that makes CNC type models in plastic?

 

Yeah it uses a little cartridge and essntially build the parts thast you have drawn i believe it will take a 3d cad drawing

 

also known as "3d printing" machines. we had one at our school as a demo, arent they QUITE expensive?

 

QUITE - very - very very very - ull need to sell a couple of houses before you can afford it

 

oh youre talking about that kind. i meant there is a vat of liquid that a laser is shown through. when the laser hits it, it hardens. not the 3-d printing thing that just build something by dropping drops of plastic on certain places until the desired part is made.
